Anthony Lobello has always been a national athlete. In high school, he placed third in the 400m at the Florida State High School Championships and the soccer team he played on was the runner-up to the state championship. By the age of 15, Anthony was a world-class inline skater and a member of the U.S. Junior World Inline speedskating team, where he won both gold and silver medals in competitions worldwide. Once he got the taste of international competition, Anthony was hooked.
Determined to represent his country on the world stage, Lobello decided to switch from the inlines to ice so he could have the chance to represent the U.S. at the Olympic Games. In just three years, Anthony achieved his dream and found himself a member of the 2006 Olympic Team, heading to Torino, Italy.
Anthony has many leisure pursuits including fishing, boating, kite boarding and enjoying the company of his friends.
He was the highest-ranked American in 500m for 2008-09 World Cup season.
