If you are traveling to the area to cover one of both of these events, the following links will provide you with information to plan your trip:
During the competition, credentialed media will have access to the Berry Events Center's press box and mixing zone, as well as to the Izzo-Mariucci Center, which will serve as the media center. Both the press box and the media center have wired and wireless access to the Internet. The center will also provide phone lines, ample working space, copies of results and light refreshments. If you need extensive phone access for the press box, a phone line will need to be ordered and payment information provided.
The Izzo-Mariucci Center is located in the connector between the Physical Education Instruction Facility (PEIF) and the Berry Events Center. To gain access from outside the Berry, look for the low-level facility with a green roof; enter the doors nearest to the Berry. You must show your credential for access to the media center.
A press conference with top-performing athletes will be held each night immediately following the awards ceremony.
Within the Berry Events Center there are a limited number of television/video camera bays, which will be assigned to media members. Areas for photographers will be identified in the media packet provided with your press pass. Some photography areas will be assigned on a rotating basis to address fair access where there are space limitations.
If you have special needs beyond those listed above, please contact Cindy Paavola, chief press officer and NMU director of communications and marketing. She can be reached at commark@nmu.edu or 906-227-2720.
