Jordan Malone grew up in Denton, Texas. It was there that he discovered his love of skating, but not on ice. Initially, Malone was an inline skater. In fact, Malone, was a 14-time world champion and 19-time national champion in inline skating. Like many of his fellow teammates, although he loved Inline skating, Malone wanted to see the shimmer of Olympic gold. So in 2003, he gave up he switched to speedskating.
Now, Malone is a force to be reckoned with in short track, excelling in the 1000m and 1500m. But Jordan has had his share of setbacks, including two devastating accidents. The first was shattering his ankle right before the World team trials and the second was hitting the side boards in the one place there was no padding with his face. Still, Malone has persevered and become one of the skaters to watch during the 2010 Olympic Games preparations.
