A third generation skater in his family, he started skating in 2002 after being motivated by watching the 2002 Olympic Winter Games. Mother, Suzanne Coffey, skated with the Mt. Prospect and Chicago, Ill., clubs in the late 1960s. Grandfather, John Coffey, skated with a Chicago club in the late 1940s. Landon  currently skates with Team Blaze in Richmond, Va. Is a college freshman. Member of the Virginia Speedskating Association, which is coached by former USOEC coaching staff member Scott Koons.
